Toyota Corporation's vision focuses on corporate citizenship. The organization's goals are to
make manufacturing of cars healthier and safer, while also making the world a better place to live
(Toyota.com, 2011). One of the company's strengths which allows it to make manufacturing healthier,
is through the elimination of parts packaging, while being transported to the assembly line. Parts are
moved through a series of underground tunnels, rather than by truck or tow motor (Treece, 2006). Not
only does this eliminate the use of plastics, which burn fossil fuels to produce, but it also reduces plastic
packaging waste, when parts are removed. Greater efficiency is achieved by eliminating the time for
unpacking the various parts, allowing the organization to control costs of production. This is a savings
that can be passed on to consumers.
