Some aspects of marketing information and technology that do make it slightly more challenging is that there is an increase in the number of customers, an increased diversity in the type of customers, their needs, and their anticipation. Marketing information and technology has become more challenging because there is an increase in the set up costs as well as the capital cost of information and information technology. This means there is a greater need to seek economies of scale and find methods of powering information technology. One of the greatest challenges that marketing information and technology faces is that there is a reduction in public sponsorship and there is need to raise revenue from alternative sources. Identifying and servicing customers has become difficult. The complexity has made the task of segmentation challenging.
There are some other factors that make marketing of information and technology more challenging. Information professionals are typically inward looking and are used to satisfying a limited number of consumers. This attitude causes challenges when large marketing programs and ...
