In 1970 a 45 foot long and 8 ton whale beached itself at a coast in Florence, Oregon. The Oregon Highway Division had the responsibility for disposing of the rotten carcass. However nobody could remember how to get rid of a whale carcass. The main problem is the difficulty of disposing an eight ton whale on the coast. Because it was almost impossible to carry and transport it to another location. Some of the ideas were also not helpful according to The Highway Division since they have believed that:
• Burying could not be a solution since it might be uncovered again,
•Cutting it up could not be a solution because nobody wants to cut it up,
• The carcass could not be burned either.
