Introduction

In this paper, I am working as a part of a project staff team and our team will need to realize process gains. We all are intensively grouped as a team or workgroup to achieve some specified common goals. There are many benefits in working as a team that result into obtaining a competitive advantage. These benefits are as follows:

Performance Enhancement: Working as a team is helpful in increasing the overall performance of a team. All the team members are grouped together to achieve some specified common goal and for this purpose they take and provide help to each other and this increases the performance of all the members and team as a whole.

Innovation: Innovation is another factor that can be easily achieved while working as a team. When many people work as a team they share their ideas and find out some new innovation to gain the maximum out of their efforts.

Responsiveness to Customer: Team working is helpful in providing quick responses to the customers. As there are many members in a team, they may get in touch with more and more customers and in this manner; they can be able to serve the customer as per their requirements.

Groups and teams are further classified into two groups, formal groups and informal groups. Formal groups are usually created by managers to fulfill the organizational goals. Task force, command groups and self managed work teams fall under formal groups (Groups and Teams). A task force is formed to achieve a given objective. It is a group of people who are involved in accomplishing a particular goal and usually after the completion of a project, it is disbanded.
