1. What are the various sources of conflict and politics that have plagued Walt Disney in the past?
According to the Case Study, various SOURCES of conflict and politics that plagued Walt Disney in the past seemingly stemmed from Chief Executive Officer, Michael Eisner. The main issues was about money, revenues, or bottom line profits for stakeholders. The Case also says that the CEO's idea of centralized decision affected operations so that all important Issues regarding the company had to have his approval. Now, this seems like a good idea for companies to have oversight by top executives, but it is unclear why the Study views his strategy as a problem or challenge. Yet, since this is about business, which relates primarily to profits, the sources of conflict and politics have financial causations.
The text goes on to say that Eisner was able to control the agenda until Walt's empire began to incur major losses in the mid 2000s. Poor ...
