organizations. Evaluate your organization in comparison with these
characteristics.
There are some characteristics that are held in common by effective organizations. First, effective organizations meet their objectives. They achieve the purpose for which they are working. Second, effective organizations reach their goals within the budgets that they have set for themselves. In other words there are not too many cost overruns. Third, effective organizations have their priorities clearly chalked out and understood. They know their directions well. Fourth, effective organizations are manned by competent people. It is these people who make their organizations successful. They have the abilities to make their organizations successful. Fifth, effective organizations are able to avail themselves of the opportunities that present themselves. They have the resources and problem solving ability to recognize and capitalize on opportunities. Fifth, the effective organizations are those where the employees are motivated. The company uses the right combination of compensation and rewards to strongly motivate its employees.

The organization in which I worked manufactured stretch wrapping systems. The organization did not always meet its production and sales objective. Moreover, there were cost overruns that my company faced. Further, my company did not seem to be well directed because it tried to get whatever orders it could causing serious problems with manufacturing schedules. I am really doubtful if my company was well prepared to take opportunities by way of important orders. Even though the employees were motivated it is doubtful if anyone took advantage of their abilities.
