What barriers exist in your working or school environment that inhibit your ability to get information you need on a timely basis? Are these organizational, interpersonal, or both?

The barriers that exist in my work environment are ones that are set by the managers and supervisors of each department. The company is very political and everything must go through a chain-of-command in order to get any information. The organizational barrier is defined by the poor organizational culture. Every department includes separated work areas from each other, poor lighting, staff shortage, outdated equipment and poor climate control. Just the fact of heating and air-conditioning issues and odors from the vents are enough to make the work environment intolerable; however, there are other issues such as no room for advancement and no educational support.
