1. What is meant by the term 'employee grievance'?
Employee grievances are complaints with management or other people in an organization about behaviors, those both unfair and unjust. These include behaviors such as harassment, social isolation, work and wages issues, and misuse of power.
These expressions of unhappiness are the outward expression of problems.

2. Why is it important for employers to try to prevent bullying behavior within their organizations?
Bullying contributes to lowered productivity, absenteeism, lower esteem with employees, low morale, losing good employees, losing employees' goodwill. People do not work well together. Low productivity leads to unmet contracts or poor quality control because people have interpersonal problems.
Bullying creates depression and anxiety in the people subjected to bullying. They report lower job satisfaction and this leads to absenteeism, which leads to reduced work output with time off and lack of enthusiasm for the job and work quality suffers for the same reasons. Work related stress can occur, creating both mental and physical problems.

3. Identify and explain in detail 2 of the principles of grievance procedures
Fairness - Fairness means that everyone is subject to the same practices and procedures. Each person has the same rights to file grievances and defenses. The policies will be available and subject to specific procedures and the procedures are followed in the same way across all employees and management in the same manner. There is, in place, a policy that does not allow for discrimination based on race, ethnicity, gender, or place in the hierarchy of the company.

Consistency - All policies are applied in the same way no matter who files the grievance. The procedures and policies, and the punishments and rewards are consistent as well.
