FMC Corporation, a global manufacturing company is head quartered at Chicago. At the different places, the company has various units that serve the need of their customers. FMC Green River and FMC Aberdeen are the two most renowned units of the company, which carry out its operations in two unlike industries. The first Unit of the company i.e. FMC Green River functions in chemical manufacturing and other Unit i.e. FMC Aberdeen runs in defense industries. Both the Units perform the various operations that cover chemicals, metals, defense equipments, etc. This Unit mainly executes its functional activities at the global level. The FMC Green River unit mainly performs its business for producing chemicals (FMC Corporation, 2008). In the year 1948, this unit stated its first plan. Large number of workers is working under this unit. Exertions in its organizational structure are critical issue for the company. This problem mainly arises because of its prominent functional actions.

From the background of the company, it is analyzed that there are various organizational problems in the company. These problems hinder the performances of the employees of the company. The most critical problems exist in the Green River Unit of the company. The company has problems related to job design & goal setting, performance appraisal, pay and career development. Kenneth Dailey, the Site Manager of the Green River Unit wants to have some effective recommendations to resolve these problems and have a good level of employee motivation to enhance their performance.
