The implications of organizational structure and culture are many. They either support growth and innovation or supports rigidity and isolation. The first is a culture of growth and innovation, which has been reported as fostering high employee morale, motivation and job satisfaction, which leads to increased productivity. This is often associated with the participatory style management (flattened organizational structure like Aberdeen) and the team approach where decision-making is shared equally across all team players. Conversely, a culture of rigidity (usually hierarchical organizational structure associated with autocratic/authoritarian like Green River), suspicion and isolation fosters low employee morale, motivation and job satisfaction, which are reported as leading to workplace conflict and low productivity in the workplace.
