Abraham Maslow, an American psychologist, has been known for his conceptualization of "hierarchy of human needs" and this has made him become the father of humanistic psychology. His theory of personality is very practical that it has influenced a number of different fields. Maslow has changed the way that modern physiologists have understood the world around them with his creative mind that critically looks at the situations that surrounded him. He created a hierarchical model for his theory and the lower the needs in the hierarchy, the more fundamental and important they are and the more that a person abandons the higher needs in order that the lower needs will be satisfied. The five levels in the hierarchy are the following:
