    The Foundation of Leadership is core to the MAOL program because it has an emphasis on exposure to theory, experience, self-awareness, and personal development. it helps the student understand what makes a leaders great and how to incorporate theory into how a person leads. It seeks to make each participant a leader who can inspire, engage, and empower others to get the right results. It deepens the capacity of the participants for effective leadership. The course lays the foundation of leadership, prepares for move into first leadership, and prepares the participant for leading larger functions, departments, and more complex projects.

    What is its relevance to the curriculum and important to your leadership philosophy?
    The relevance to the curriculum is that the foundation of leadership increases the commitment, perseverance, and risk taking of the participant. The participant learns how to motivate, communicate with, and achieve goals through others. My philosophy is that I should lead to serve others better. The concept of servant leadership supports my philosophy.
