What does this mean for you as a leader? What steps can you take to improve these scores to become a more effective leader?

3.Some approaches to leadership include situational, Path-Goal, and Leader Member Exchange. Where are you currently with regard to these three approaches based on the self-assessments? What does this mean for you as a leader? What steps can you take to improve upon these areas?

4.Other approaches to leadership include Team Leadership, Collaborative Leadership, Participatory Leadership, and Transformational Leadership. 5.With regard to gender, the Gender-Leader Implicit Association Test and Masculinity-Femininity Self-Assessments can provide further insight into your leadership styles. 6.Culture plays an important role in leadership today. The Culture Questionnaire and the Individualism-Collectivism Self-Assessments can provide insight into the dimension of culture and leadership. Where are you currently with regard to cultural aspects of leadership? What does this mean for you as a leader? What steps can you take to improve in these areas?

7.Integrity and Trust are essential to successful leadership. Where are you currently with regard to trust and integrity as shown in the self-assessments? What does this mean for you as a leader? What steps can you take to improve in these areas?

8.How do you compare your current leadership, based on the previous assessments, to where you want to be as a leader? Are you close to where you want to be? Are you better off than you thought? Would other people agree with your self-assessments, or do you think that answers would be different if they came from your coworkers, superiors, or subordinates? How would they differ?

9.How do you feel you compare in your current leadership as compared to your best examples of great leadership? These could be people at work, people in your personal life, etc. What qualities do you have that they don't? What qualities do they have that you don't? How do you achieve that level of leadership?

Self Confidence: Leadership has its foundation which is laid on confidence. Without confidence a leader would not be able to make decisions and commit to decisions. On the basis of self assessments I am average in terms of self confidence. There are situations where I can confidently handle everything while there are other situations also where I tremble and am apprehensive on committing myself. Others perceive this behavior of mine as lack of passion whereas this is not true. It is confidence which pulls me back from handling complex situations and taking them as challenge. I have realized that to build my confidence:
• I have to increase my belief in myself.
• I have to stop analyzing too much and try to give in my best to every task I take on hand.
• I have to learn to live with the failure, learn from them and move on
• I have to learn to find happiness in everything I do
Leadership traits, skills and styles: Every leader has certain traits, skills and styles some of which may be naturally possessed while others may be need improvement. I am a democratic leader. I believe in giving equal opportunity to everyone in the group to express their views and synthesize the information available into best possible solution. I have skills and styles which complement this leadership trait of mine. I am good communication skills, understanding of context, constraints, passion and enthusiasm, and commitment towards others. To further enhance my score I would evaluate hindrances I face in handling tasks and seek which skills and styles would help in overcoming those.
Leadership approach: I have situational leadership approach with supportive behaviors. I try to maintain personal relationships with members of the group I work with thereby opening channels of communication, delegating responsibility and giving subordinates an opportunity to use their potential (Earnhardt, n.d). I first assess the situation and adapt my leadership style to the situation. With this approach I am able to apply different styles to different situations and in the process acquire many new skills. To improve upon situational leadership approach I have to learn to make myself aware of the situation thoroughly before hasting into a solution.
