The recommended actions in Kotter's eight steps are to create urgency. This step creates an organizational environment where the people are aware of the problems and also visualize a possible answer to the problem (1). If the first step is implemented the change effort becomes easier and the outcomes become better because there is better internal communication and management, there is an urge in the employees to prevent the loss, and the entire work environment becomes safer. When the employees become aware of the urgency, they also think of the possible actions to mitigate the problem. The sense of urgency creates motivation and commitment among employees and they also seek performance standards to make sure they adhere to those standards.
