Discrimination Act: Title VII
The American Disability Act (ADA) requires that employers should reasonably accommodate the qualified individuals with disabilities. The federal and state laws should be complied by the organization in concern of the people with disabilities (American Bar Association, 2007). The company requires to reasonably accommodating to qualified individuals with disabilities so that they can perform essential job tasks in an effective manner.
Measures to Accommodate People with Disabilities
An organization should take sufficient measures to reasonably accommodate people with disabilities or those with a known drug abuse problems. The following measures may be used by the organization in concern of this issue -
? The management of the company requires a written policy in concern with the individuals with disabilities or in concern with the employees who are disabled.
? The job descriptions should be reviewed properly and should be updated continuously (Great Britain: Parliament: Joint Committee on Human Rights, 2008).
? The employee may permit the employees with disability to work at home in the case of problem in working at organization.
? The customized furniture can be purchased to get individual relief.
? The work schedule can be altered as it would also be effective to accommodate that individual reasonably.
? The office facilities can also be redesigned to accommodate reasonably.
? The employers should also understand all the rules and regulations fully related to the employees with disability (Licht, 2010).
