Wal-Mart is one of the contributing departmental stores all over the world. It operates retail stores in different formats worldwide. It was founded in 1962 by Sam Wilton. In present, the different stores of the company are serving more than 200 million customers with the help of its 2.2 million associates and over 7,800 departmental stores (About Us: Wal-Mart, 2010). It is one of the biggest public corporations on the basis of revenue. The factors, which assist Wal-Mart in prevailing & asserting competitive advantage, are large number of stores and low price of its products along with its cost leadership strategy.
The company had attained this cost leadership with its ever increasing efforts and plan directed to satisfying customers on the basis of lowest cost and good quality.
