In the Human Resources role, the primary function is recruiting, staffing, and retaining top talent in every hotel across the globe. This function is also one of the greatest challenges of the position. The ability to staff people at every hotel is met with the challenge of identifying talent and trying to train talent in some of the emerging countries where the hotel is located. In many cases the availability of educated labor is hard to find. This will require partnering with enterprises in each country that can work as coordinators between the host country and the local area (Dowling, pg.51-54).
