The strategy of my current organization differs entirely from that of MITRE. In my company, if an applicant is recommended by an internal person, in most probability, he is rejected. The reason is that my company feels that employees should be impartial and fair in their dealings. A referred candidate is not likely to be fully impartial in the discharge of his duties. Further, relatives and friends of present employees are discouraged from applying to the company. In fact, the CEO tells the story of what happened when two employees of our company decided to marry. They were given a choice one of the persons could leave the company.
