The five dimensions of cultural differences are the power distance index (PDI), which is the extent to which the less powerful members of organization expect and accept power to be distributed unequally. A high PDI index would be a centralized company/culture with strong hierarchies, and big differences in compensation, authority and respect. Individualism (IDV) is the degree to which individuals are integrated into groups or the strength of the ties individuals have to one another in the company/culture. If a company/culture had a high IDV it would value a loose connection among employees, allowing privacy and individualism. Masculinity (MAS) gauges the distribution of roles between genders.
