AT&T is at the forefront of technology. While many companies change due to technology, AT&T's changes are due to the technology they invent and produce. Even though they are the innovators of technology, the company still faces the same scenarios when change is presented.

Organization Change

When changes in technology are apparent, many situations can arise. The use of cell phones, blackberries, laptops and wireless internet connections are eliminating the need for clerical support, as portable technology is bringing the client to the vendor with the elimination of the middle man; the middle man being the clerical position.

When a situation such as this occurs, management must do all that it can to alleviate the burden of the eliminated section of the workforce and welcome technological change.
