Our organization was facing lot of issues pertaining to poor efficiency, quality and customer service related issues, issues related to poor morale and motivation level among employees and outdated processes and systems. In order to address these issues, the organization decided to restructure or re engineer the entire operations, processes and systems and move the current organizational structure and culture towards a more decentralized, flexible organization that focuses on empowering employees, providing adequate flexibility and decision making authority and fosters creativity, innovation and quality culture in the organization.

The proposed change was a significant change from the current bureaucratic organizational structure which is centralized in nature and authoritative culture that does not believe in empowering employees. The organizations management and employees had to significantly transform their working styles and adapt to a new structure, new processes and new culture in the organization. The move certainly attracted major resistance from the managers and many employees in the organization.
