The first step here should be to make sure that the process for forming the mission statement is clear. Next, you would want to clarify the purpose or definition of operations management. As far as giving an example, you would need to look inward to your own company's mission statement and break it down into sections. For my school, our mission statement specifically outlines concerns for student success and a supportive environment. Both of those items can easily be translated into supportive features, when relating to operations. For a school (again, where I work), the student's success *IS* our operations goal.
