The teachers in the NCLB will be trained.
a. Needs assessment: What are the training needs?
The training needs will be assessed across the following dimensions:
1. The ability of the teacher to improve the quality of education imparted by her;
2. The ability of the teacher to implement 'scientifically based research' practices during teaching.
3. The ability of the teacher to involve parents in the program;
4. The ability to provide professional development for students that may not attend college.
5. The ability to teach reading, writing, math and science.
The assessment will be made on the bases of past record of teachers, direct interviews with them and through peer reports.
b. Design: How will the training materials be created?
The training material will directly address the requirements of the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 (Public Law 107-110).
The training material will have two modules. The first will test and improve the skill of the teacher in each of the reading, writing, math and science sections. Moreover, the module will provide advanced material for the teachers in the areas in which they teach. Each ...
