Creative Code: We the members of the American Association of Advertising Agencies, in addition to supporting and obeying the laws of legal regulations pertaining to advertising, undertake to extend and broaden the application of high ethical standards. We recognize that there are areas that are subject to honestly different interpretation and judgment. Nevertheless, we agree not to recommend to an advertiser, and to discourage the use of, advertising that is in poor or questionable taste or that is deliberately irritating.

I think that this oath is mandatory for Associations such as these to have and they are politically correct. In other words, it is what should happen. However, it is definitely not what happens on a regular basis. Nevertheless, it has gotten better as companies have been getting fined for advertising false ...
