On 13, December, 2008, Sorensen was arrested for driving under influence. He was sent to a hospital where his blood was drawn for blood alcohol testing. The Nurse who collected the same completed a certificate of blood specimen taken in a medically acceptable manner. The certificate had items like the antiseptic solution was nonalcoholic, the sample was collected in a clean container which had an anticoagulant-preservative, the container was labeled appropriately, and the container was sealed after collection. This sample was tested and was found to have a blood alcohol level higher than the permissible level for drinking under influence. There was also a violation of Nebraska's open container law.
