Positioning is defined by Kotler and Keller (2006) as the act of designing the market offering and image to occupy a distinctive place in the minds of the target market. According to these authors, the goal of positioning is to locate the brand in the minds of the consumers and consequently, to maximize the potential benefit to the firm.
