The business chosen
The business is Twin Cities Premium Outlets, it is located at 3965, Eagan Outlets Pky, Eagan, MN 55122. This business has 85 Outlet Stores including some of the well-known brands in retailing.

Why this business was selected
I chose this business because this business can use virtual reality/ augmented reality for increasing the sales of its products. Currently, the Twin Cities Premium Outlets is known for its comfortable shopping as well as a culinary experience at its food court. The Twin Cities Premium Outlets has positioned itself as a tax-free shopping center for clothes and shoes. (image 1)

Internet of Things Immersive Media Marketing Opportunities
The specific Internet of Things Immersive Media Marketing Opportunities I see at Twin Cities Premium Outlets is virtual fitting rooms. The augmented reality fitting rooms will enable shoppers at stores to try on clothing, shoes, and makeup virtually. The customers do not have to touch the item itself. Augmented reality will place the clothing over the live image of the customer so that the customer can check the fit, size, and style of the clothing they want to buy. The augmented reality technology at Twin Cities Premium Outlets will overlay products on a live video feed of customers. These are called virtual dressing rooms and this technology has become a necessity since the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic. Even after the restrictions were eased customers were reluctant to try clothing in stores because of the increased risk of contracting the virus (Hwangbo, H., Kim, Y. S., & Cha, K. J. 2017). This risk vanishes in the case of virtual fitting rooms because customers don't have to touch clothing or shoe and they can see what the clothes look like on their body shape. Twin Cities Premium Outlets will use augmented reality or AR to create a 360 degree 3D model of the customer by using a webcam. The clothes that have been taken to the fitting room have an RFID chip that provides the scanned image of the clothing or shoes to the augmented reality technology. The AR technology overlays the scanned clothing or shoes on the 3D model of the shopper. The shopper can see what the clothing looks like without touching the clothes. Twin Cities Premium Outlets will provide AR virtual fitting rooms to every store in the Center.
