# ANOVA for total knee replacement data.

Enter the attached data given to you into an Excel spreadsheet, calculate the requested statistics, and answer the following questions.

Data from Total Knee Replacement (TKR) patients was collected from 3 different clinics. The data that is given to you includes: Subject number, age, clinic and range of motion (ROM) measurements at 3 weeks, 6 weeks and 6 months post-op.

Question 1
a) You know that Clinic 1 uses a slightly different protocol than Clinic 2. To see if there is a significant difference in data between clinic 1 & 2 calculate a t-Test with ROM at 3 weeks at Clinic 1 & Clinic 2.
b) Is there a significant difference? How do you know? Explain using values. What does that tell you?
c) Calculate the median, mean and standard deviation (s) of 3 weeks ROM measurements from Clinic 1 and Clinic 2. (Show your work)
d) Using an Excel Spreadsheet set up a table to show this information.

Question 2
a) Compare ROM at 3 weeks between clinic 1, clinic 2 and clinic 3. Perform a one-way ANOVA.
You may copy and paste data onto another worksheet and rearrange columns to mimic the example from class
b) Do your results show a significant difference or not? Explain how you know by using values to explain. Explain what this means.
