Pastafarianism or The Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster (CotFSM) began as a protest against the Kansas State School Board's move to teach "Intelligent Design" in schools. The themes, the teachings - they are highly parodic, taking the mickey out of Christian and long-established belief systems through the following official 'declarations' of Bobby Henderson, its founder (2005):
