RESPONSE:

1. What are the roles/effects of hormones during puberty from start to stop?

Technically, puberty is defined as "the stage of physical development when sexual reproduction first becomes possible". (http://www.sexualityandu.ca/parents/puberty.aspx) Sex hormones are responsible for some of the most dramatic body changes that occur, such as controlling puberty, egg and sperm production, pregnancy, birth and lactation (breastfeeding).

Puberty starts when a part of the brain called the hypothalmus begins releasing a hormone called gonadotropin releasing hormone (GnRH) (http://www.nichd.nih.gov/health/topics/puberty.cfm).
