The certification is administered by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB) and the Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCABA). The Behavior Analysis Association of Michigan (BAAM) seeks to support and promote scientific research based on principles of behavior, and to demonstrate effective therapeutic outcomes.
Based on the description provided for a behavioral analyst, they are trained experts utilizing "empirically-established" principles of learning and behavioral techniques to provide effective therapies. The regulatory practices include psychotherapy, counseling, behavior modification, hypnosis, biofeedback techniques, psychological tests or other behavioral techniques.
