The Texas Legislature
The Texas state legislature is unique in that it is part-time. What does this mean? When the Texas Constitution was drafted, the idea behind it is citizen participation. It is not a state that is supposed to be run along party lines. However, current Republicanism in Texas state politics fuels this notion although it truth, the growth of the party locally is due to its personalities and local campaigns.
