# Find five decimals between 0.1 and 0.11 and order them

A. Find five decimals between 0.1 and 0.11 and order them from greatest to least.

b. Find four decimals between 0 and 0.1 listed from least to greatest so that each decimal startimg from the second is twice as large as the preceding one.

c. Find four decimals between 0.1 and 0.2 and list them in increasing order so that the first one is halfway between 0.1 and 0.2, the second halfway between the first and 0.2, the third halfway between the second and 0.2, and similarly for the fourth one.

## Solution This solution is FREE courtesy of BrainMass!

a. difference = 0.11 - 0.1 = 0.01

dividing differnce by 5 we have 0.002

0.11, 0.108, 0.106, 0.104, 0.102 and 0.1

b. difference = 0.1 - 0 = 0.1

let decimals = 0, 0+r, 2r, 4r, 8r

8r = 0.1

r = 0.00625

numbers = 0, .0125, 0.025, 0.05 and 0.1

c. Find four decimals between 0.1 and 0.2 and list them in increasing order so that the first one is halfway between 0.1 and 0.2, the second halfway between the first and 0.2, the third halfway between the second and 0.2, and similarly for the fourth one

1st = (0.1 + 0.2) / 2 = 0.15

2nd = (0.15+0.2) / 2 = .175

3rd = (0.175+.2) / 2 = .1875

4th = (.1875+.2) / 2 = .19375
