In a centrifugal compressor the air is circulated by the impeller and pushed to the rim and it acquire the speed of the impeller at its tip.
The velocity at the rim is given by v = *R where is the angular velocity of the impeller and R (= D/2) is the radius. Hence
v = *R = ...
The principle of the centrifugal compressor and the rate of the volume of air delivered per second is calculated.
