Pamphlet Review: The Jefferson County Public Health Information Pamphlet

Jefferson County, Montana is a rural locale surrounded by scenic mountains, rivers and forests. One can say that it is a typical American rural county, with a population under 15,000. As such, it has a small town feel and residents, especially those in the town center and villages are familiar and on first-name basis with each other. Industry-wise, mining, wood product and agriculture are the primary industries. A burgeoning industry though is human services as the county is host to several youth and social services centers serving the state (i.e. Montana Developmental Center, Riverside Corrections for female juveniles, Women's Elkhorn Meth Treatment Center & Liberty Place - a center for traumatic injury). As such, despite its rural location, Jefferson County's residents are very much aware of issues in relation to public health and social services and they can easily relate the problems brought by criminality and deviance to its effects in mental health and social behaviour.
