I am doing a presentation and need help with population susceptibility rate and preventive roles of diet.
Hypertension susceptibility involves many factors inculding:
-Little or no exercise
-Too much salt in the diet
-Drinking too much alcohol
-History of high blood pressure in the family
There is great information about the susceptibility rates of different population based on their ethnic background.
Diagnosis of hypertension among G-8 countries (highest to lowest):
Of the G-8 countries the USA has the highest rate of hypertension diagnosis while Canada has the fewest (see ref. 2).
In the USA prevelance of hypertension among racial lines is obvious (highest to lowest rates, see ref. 7):
