Before we can determine when and how "healthcare" became a right instead of a privilege, we must first define the words "right" and "privilege." The word right has many definitions, such as "correct," "fair," and "morally acceptable." On the other hand, the word "privilege" means a special right or a special advantage to a select group. With that said, we must also clarify the word "healthcare." Healthcare means improving or maintaining the physical, emotional, mental and spiritual health. Without proper healthcare, many individuals are dependent on the government (our tax dollars) to foot their healthcare bill because they are often uninsured and tend to wait until they are very sick to seek healthcare.
