Professional standards are usually created by an overall picture of the healthcare organization. First, professional standards that are basic to all professions must be clearly written and understood by all that are working in the institution. No matter what a person's role may be, there is always some level of standard that must be followed. One that is followed by all professions is confidentiality. From the president of the hospital to the person who sweeps out the rooms every shift on the units, this standard must be followed.
