Ethical implication of the current nursing shortage have much to do with patient safety, and our ability to care of our citizens. As the life expectancy increases, so does the need to care for patients that survive longer and more serious illnesses and injuries. Top that with the aging baby boom sector of the population and a declining interest in nursing and we have a recipe for disaster.
