ICD-10 refers to an international standard diagnostic classification 10th revision used by all members states of the World Health Organization. Its purpose is to standardize the diagnosis description for epidemiological and health management use such as analysis of the general health situation of population groups and monitoring of the incidence and prevalence of diseases and other health problems in relation to other variables such as the characteristics and circumstances of the individuals affected; and clinical use such as reimbursement, resource allocation, quality and guidelines (WHO, 2010a).
