Patient, families, coworkers and those we work with in the healthcare environment are in unique situations. This setting is rich with emotions that make people respond in a different manner than usual. As a patient or family, they may be facing an unexpected illness or surgery and are very apprehensive. If they are upset about any part of their care, the first person they may lash out at could be the next healthcare provider that enters the room. This could be the nurse, technician or physician.
