(1) Evaluate at least two different historical perspectives on the delivery of health care in America. How has technology and the lack or developing technology affected these perspectives?
Two different historical perspectives on the delivery of health care in America are the accessibility of health care information and public opinions about hospitals. Historically, the doctor has always been the only authority in providing treatment for the patient. However, in this day and age of technological advancements, at the touch of a button, patients are becoming more educated and more active in their health care treatment. Regarding public opinion on hospitals, historically, hospitals were seen as places to go "die." However, now patients are seeing hospitals as a symbol of relief and an opportunity to get better due to the technological advances in health care that allow organizations to provide patients enhanced features such as pain management. However, patient care still needs improvements in intangible areas such as cultural diversity. Hopefully technology will be able to develop something that will assist health care givers in providing better patient care to individuals from diverse backgrounds.
