The disease that will be discussed is malaria, which represents a major public health threat around the globe as it infects approximately 500 million people every year and is responsible for 1 million deaths annually. The disease is caused by the protozoan species that emanates from the genus Plasmodium. The specific scientific variables that each four protozoan species are labelled as can be found with the reference that was obtained from Ebscohost database. Mosquito transmission is the way that people are infected by this disease, and the Anopheles mosquito is the carrier. Malaria in the United States has been largely eradicated through the use of fastidious diagnosis with the proper treatment provided for the 1,000-1,500 cases that have been reported in the U.S. annually to the Centers for Disease Control.
