As you begin with defining what is meant by the term "humanities," and explain what distinguishes the humanities from other modes of human inquiry and expression, you might notice their creative, innovative, artistic, and original flair and voice. Unlike other modes which are more factual or knowledge-based, humanities seem to allow freedom of expression, personal feelings, reactions, ideas, specific cultural or racial values, political expressions, and other aspects of the creators' personalities and thinking to come into play.
