Janet Montego is a new client who has come to your agency in need of some assistance. Janet's husband is a migrant farm worker and the family moves very frequently. She has 4 children: Amy 12, Sasha 10, Michael 7, and Susan 2. Because of their frequent moves, the children are not in regular school attendance. Janet has a chronic cough and does not have any health insurance. She states that her oldest children have problems with repeated head lice. She can not afford the treatments. The family lives in a two bedroom mobile home and use kerosene heaters in the winter. She states that they have enough food, but the kids will not eat the healthy stuff. Janet states that she has been feeling really down and doesn't know what she could do to feel better. She says that her husband often comes home tired and sometimes "smacks" her and the kids. She has come to your agency to see if there is anything you may be able to do to help them become more settled in this location.
As the case manager at your agency, your job is to find out what the needs of the client are and to link them with the necessary services.
