First, Constructivism focuses on authentic, "hands on" learning experiences. This theory reinforces that students must connect personally and socially with the material. This view aligns learning with making our mental models accommodate new learning experiences.

In other words, teachers design lessons as a search for meaning. Activities such as webquests, debates, journals, simulations, and other ideas force students to be actively engaged in their own learning to construct meaning.
