    Differentiated instruction deals with implementation of modifications for student pace, student cognitive levels, student learning styles and student social learning preferences. All four of these apply in the pre-school or kindergarten classroom.

    Particularly with pre-school and kindergarten children, students arrive at school with varying degrees of preparation and skills. This ranges from children who arrive already reading, to children who do not even know their ABC's. There are equally wide ranges of readiness in social skills.
