Create a developmentally appropriate literacy lesson plan that supports language and literacy experiences.

f. Identify appropriate materials. Use the textbook and at least one outside resource, with citations in APA format.
g. Create an assessment plan. How will you measure improvement?
Your one- to two-page lesson plan (in addition to the title and reference pages) should utilize the template and be in-depth so another reader would know exactly what to do it they were teaching the lesson. It must be formatted according to APA style, citing two to three scholarly resources (including the course text). Since you will be using a template, it is not necessary to include a title and cover page.

The lesson objectives are to ensure that children possess the ability to develop letter recognition as it's imperative for pre-school children to acquire this skill prior to formal schooling to provide familiarization with letter shapes. The alignment of letter recognition with experiences that children in their lives can be done by developing a lesson procedure wherein children learn letter names through songs, poems, and finger plays about the alphabet. The children should be encouraged to manipulate letters, recognize the name of their friends and families and utilize shapes to distinguish letters from other shapes and spatial features. Observation and the use of environmental print is recommended for teachers to expose children to the common letters of the English alphabet. The students learn the meaning of letters in their second language (English) through the use of these activities and benefit from labelling objects with English letters that are labelled after discussing the signs and labels of familiar products.
