A few parents in preschool may feel the need to stay for the first few days of school since children adjust in different ways and rates. The parents may stay with their children as they watch the class activities. Watching is a form of participation and let children stand and watch if that is what they want to do. When the child is ready, the parent may tell child that parent is leaving and will come back. Almost all children will be comfortable in the classroom in a few weeks and they will look forward to coming to class.
