The aim of this study is to develop substantive theory about how parents deal with the education of their child diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder. A series of in-depth case studies, conceptualized within the social theory of symbolic interaction, will use both auto ethnographic and constructivist grounded theory methods to generate thick description and explanation.
